Hair Extension Maintenance for Busy Individuals

Are you worried hair extensions aren't for you because of your busy lifestyle? Don't worry, it may seem like a lot but we've got you covered! I'm going to give you some tips for hair extension maintenance that fits into your schedule!

And fyi... It's a lot easier than you may think!

These maintenance tips should be used for everyone, with or without extensions, but some of these tips are not often talked about!

When it comes to brushing your hair, it starts with using a hair extension friendly brush! I tend to lean towards the boar bristle brushes, or wet brushes. **Linked below I will have my amazon storefront!** Begin brushing your from the ends working your way up, section by section! Brush your hair before you shower. NEVER brush your hair when it's wet! Your hair actually stretches up to 45% when it's wet, so it's best to wait till it's at least 75% dry to brush it! This includes blow drying too - don't round brush your hair until you rough dry!

What products are you currently using? I hope not Pantene or Tresemme! These products can easily dry out your hair extensions! How about opting in for some sulphate free shampoo! Ever heard of The Virtue Labs!? These products extract human keratin from hair extensions and put it back into their products! **Linked below will be The Virtue Labs**

I know having new hair is always fun to style! But there are some things you want to be careful about! Wearing your hair in buns and ponytails... I'm not saying its not allowed, but instead of wearing the ponytail or bun on the top of your head, try low and loose styles or braids! You want to be sure that you're not causing tension on your hair - this can cause tension traction alopecia!

If you are gym rat, extensions are for you too! This is a common question we get - we have lots of clients who go to the gym, crossfit, pilates and so on! You can pull you hair back, but be sure to let your hair down after your done!

Before bedtime, invest a few minutes in your hair extension care routine. Secure your hair in a loose braid to prevent tangling during sleep. For longer lasting extensions, silk or satin pillowcases can be a game-changer, reducing friction and keeping their quality.

Maintaining hair extensions doesn't have to be a time-consuming task. With these quick and easy routines, you can effortlessly integrate care into your busy schedule. Hair extensions should make your life easier, not harder!
